7The brahmins praised him, the best of the gandharvas sang, the perfected ones let fall showers of flowers, and the women of heaven danced. 8Conches and trumpets and drums and kettledrums sounded in the sky, and all the hosts of the gods and the sages and the fathers came there. 9Brahma, teacher of the world, came with the gods and the lords of the gods; and seeing on the right hand of Vena's son the mark of him who carries the mace, 10and the lotus on his feet, he took him for a portion of Hari. One whose discus is not to be turned back is a portion of him who stands highest. 11His anointing was begun by the brahmins who speak of Brahman, and people brought him from every side the things wanted for it.
12Rivers and seas, mountains, serpents, cattle, birds and beasts, the sky, the earth and all beings brought their gifts together. 13Anointed, that great king, finely dressed and well adorned, with his wife Arci adorned beside him, shone like a second fire.
