Ringed about, at the middle of the circle of his eight long full arms, by a forest garland whose beauty vied with Sri's, the first Person looked on Barhismat's sons, who had come to him for refuge, with pity, and spoke to them in a voice like a raincloud's. Bhagavan said: Choose a boon, and good be with you. Sons of the king, your duty is not divided, since you are of one heart, and I am pleased with that friendship of yours. The man who calls you to mind day after day at the joinings of the day will hold his brothers as himself, and will be a friend to all beings. And to those who, gathered in themselves, praise me evening and morning with the song of Rudra, I will give the boons they want, and a fine understanding as well.

Since you took up your father's command gladly, a fame that people will love will follow you through the worlds. A son will be born to you, well known, in no quality less than Brahma, who will fill these three worlds by a strength of his own.
