39That we have studied well, that we have pleased our teachers, and the brahmins and the elders, by attending on them always; that we have bowed to the noble, to well-wishers and to brothers, and to all beings without grudging; 40and that we did this hard austerity, Lord, going without food a long time in the water: all of it we ask may go to your pleasing, the pleasing of the Person who is the fullness. 41Manu the self-born, the revered Bhava, and others whose clarity is made pure by austerity and knowing, praise your greatness though they have never seen its far shore; and we too speak of you as far as we can. 42Homage to the even, to the pure, to the Person, and to the highest; to Vasudeva, to clarity; homage to you, the Bhagavan.
43Praised so by the Pracetas, Hari was pleased and said, Let it be so, for he is tender to those who take refuge. Then, though they did not want him to go and their eyes were not sated, he whose power never falls away went to his own dwelling.
