Ramyaka, and the great fish· Verses 24–28

24And in Ramyaka the dearest form of the Bhagavan is the descent as a fish, which he showed long ago to Manu, the man of that region. Manu worships it to this day with a great yoga of devotion, and he says this. 25Om. Homage to the Bhagavan, first of all. Homage to clarity, to breath, to vigour, to force, to strength, to the great fish. Homage. 26Within and without, your form unseen by any guardian of the worlds, you move, and your sound is wide. You are the Lord, who brought this world under your power by the name, as a man works a woman made of wood. 27The guardians of the worlds gave up on him, burning with envy; and though they tried, singly and together, they could not protect the two-footed and the four-footed, the crawling and the standing that is seen here.
28In the sea at the end of the age, garlanded with waves, you moved far and wide, unborn one, by your vigour, with this earth, the storehouse of herbs and creepers, and me with it. Homage to him whose self is the crowd of breaths in the world.
