Verse 33
Puskara, and the great lotus· Verses 29–33
।
29So too, beyond the ocean of buttermilk, lies the island of Puskara, twice as long, laid out on every side and enclosed outside by an ocean of sweet water equal to itself. On it is a great lotus with ten thousand times ten thousand petals of pure gold like the tip of a flame, made to be the seat of the Bhagavan whose seat is the lotus. 30In the middle of that island stands one mountain alone, Manasottara by name, the boundary between the region on this side and the region beyond, ten thousand yojanas high and as much across. On its four sides are four cities of the world-guardians, Indra and the rest. Above it the wheel of the sun's chariot, which is the year, goes around Meru, turning with the day and the night of the gods.
31The lord of that island too was of Priyavrata's line, Vitihotra by name. He appointed his two sons, Ramanaka and Dhataki, as rulers of the regions, and himself, like his elders, keeps to work done for the Bhagavan. 32The men of those regions honour the Bhagavan in the form of Brahma with rites that carry works, and they say this: 33Let a man worship that sign which is made of works and is the sign of Brahman. To that Bhagavan, single, without a second, at peace, homage.
