40To make strong the many powers of these, his own extensions, and of the world-guardians, the Bhagavan, the highest great Person, master of great powers, the inner ruler, holds up with his own arms, bright with his chosen weapons, the utterly clear being of himself, marked by dharma, knowledge, detachment, mastery and the rest of the eight great attainments. Surrounded by Visvaksena and the best of his companions, he stays on that finest of mountains, on every side, for the welfare of all the worlds. 41The Bhagavan has taken this form until the end of the age, and the sense is that he does so to keep safe the going of the various worlds, made by the yogamaya of his own self.
42The spread within has been told, and by it the measure of what has no world, which lies outside the Lokaloka mountain. Beyond that they speak of the clean going of the masters of yoga. 43The sun stands at the middle of the egg, in the space between sky and earth. Between the sun and the shell of the egg there are two hundred and fifty million. 44He came to be in this egg when it was dead, and so he is called Martanda; and he is called Hiranyagarbha because he rose out of the golden egg. 45By the sun the quarters are marked off, and the sky, heaven and earth, heaven and release, the hells and the watery places below, all of them.
46For gods, animals and men, for creeping things and plants, for all the gatherings of the living, the sun is the self and the lord of sight.
