When that great god, filled out by my power, thought himself something left over, and set himself to the work of bringing forth, then, told by me, the god did a fierce austerity, and by it the mighty one in the beginning brought forth you nine, the makers of the world. This is the daughter of Pancajana, a lord of creatures, dear one; Asikni is her name. Take her as your wife, lord of creatures. You, whose way now is the joining of pairs, will bring this sending out of creatures about again, many times over, in her whose way is the joining of pairs. All the creatures that come after you will come to be by pairing, through my maya, and will carry me their tribute.

Having said this, the Bhagavan, Hari, who brings the world into being, vanished on the spot while Daksa looked at him, like a thing got in a dream.
