27Asked in this way, that revered son of Brahma, pitying and mighty, cooked an offering of grain for Tvastr and sacrificed to Tvastr. 28The brahmin gave what was left of the offering to her who was eldest and best among the king's queens, Bharata, Krtadyuti by name. 29Then he said to the king: One son will be yours, king, and he will bring you joy and grief. And Brahma's son went away. 30And by eating it the lady Krtadyuti held Citraketu's child within her, as Krttika held the son of Agni. 31Day after day the child in her grew slowly by the fire of the lord of the Surasenas, king, as the moon grows in the bright fortnight.
32Then, when the time came round, a boy was born, and he brought the highest gladness to the Surasenas when they heard of it.
