23All of them, king of the Surasenas, give grief and bewilderment and fear and pain. They are like a city of gandharvas, like a dream, a trick, a wish in the mind. 24Seen without anything real behind them, they are then not seen: they come up in the mind. In a man who broods along with his works, the mind's many works have come to be. 25This body of the one in it, made of substance and knowledge and action, is called the maker of many troubles and burnings for the one who has it. 26So with a mind settled in itself, look closely at where your self is going. Let go of your trust in the twofold as if it were fixed, and come into stillness.
27Take this secret teaching of a mantra from me, and keep yourself clean. Holding it, after seven nights you will see Sankarsana, the master. 28King, those before you, Sarva and the rest, came to the soles of his feet, let go of this twofold confusion, and at once reached that greatness of his which has no equal and nothing above it. You too will come to the highest before long.
