Om. Homage to you, the Bhagavan, Vasudeva; on you we set our thought. Homage to Pradyumna, to Aniruddha, and to Sankarsana. Homage to him who is knowing and nothing else, whose form is the highest bliss, who takes his pleasure in the self, who is at peace, in whom the sight of two has stopped. Homage to him whose waves of power are laid down by the tasting of the self's own bliss. Homage to you, lord of the senses, the great one, whose form is everything there is. The one whom speech does not reach and turns back from, and the mind with it; who has no name and no shape and is knowing only: may he guard us, who is past what is and what is not.

In whom this is, and out of whom this stands and goes and is born, as the clay is in things made of clay: homage to you, that Brahman. What mind and understanding, senses and breaths do not touch and do not know, and what is spread inside and outside like space: to that I bow. These — body, senses, breath, mind and understanding — move among their works only when a portion of him has gone into them, and never otherwise, like iron that has not been heated. Standing in them, that gets the name of the seer. Om. Homage to the Bhagavan, the great Person, of great power, lord of great splendours; you whose two lotus feet are fondled by the budding lotus hands of the whole company of the leaders of his own people: highest one, you who stand in the highest place, homage to you.
