Choose a boon, fair one. I am pleased with you, blameless woman. When a woman's husband is thoroughly pleased, what wish of hers here does not come to her? The husband is held to be the highest god of women. Vasudeva, the lord of Sri, is the one who stands in the mind of all beings. It is he, the Bhagavan, who is worshipped by men in the marks of the gods, made various by name and by form, and by women in the shape of a husband. So, slender one, women faithful to their husbands, wanting what is good, worship with an undivided heart the husband as the self and the Lord. I have been worshipped by you, good woman, in just that spirit and out of devotion. So I will bring about for you the wish that unfaithful women can hardly get.
