37The boy put down his playthings and was like one dulled, his mind on him. His self taken hold of by the seizure that is Krsna, he did not know the world for what it is. 38Sitting, walking about, eating, lying down, drinking, speaking, he did not attend to any of it, being held in the arms of Govinda. 39Sometimes he wept, his awareness broken up with thinking of him whom nothing hinders; sometimes he laughed, gladdened by that thinking; sometimes he sang out loud. 40Sometimes he called out in longing; sometimes he danced without shame; sometimes, joined to the thought of him and filled with him, he acted him out. 41Sometimes his hair stood up and he sat silent, at rest from the touching, his eyes half shut with the still water of love's gladness in them.
42By waiting on the lotus feet of him whose renown is highest, a service he came to through the company of those who have nothing, he spread out again and again the highest ease of his own self, and he brought quiet to the minds of others made poor by bad company.
