20The boy fell at his feet, and the demon welcomed him with a blessing, held him a long while in both arms, and came to the highest ease. 21Lifting him onto his lap and smelling his head, wetting that opened face of his with the water of falling tears, he said this, Yudhisthira. 22Prahlada, my child, say over something of the best you have learned well, whatever in all this time you have taken from your teacher. Long may you live. 23Hearing of Visnu, praising him aloud, holding him in mind, waiting on his feet, worshipping him, bowing to him, being his servant, being his friend, and giving over the self to him: 24if devotion with these nine marks is offered by a man to Visnu, and done straight to the Bhagavan, that I hold to be the best of what is learned.
