25And when he is pleased, the Endless, the first, what is there that cannot be had? What are dharma and the rest to us, which come of themselves out of the stirring of the strands? What is there even to want beyond the strands, for us who take the essence and sing at his feet? 26The three that are called dharma, wealth and desire; the looking into the self, the three Vedas, statecraft and self-restraint, and the various trades: I hold that the whole truth of all this teaching is the giving of oneself to the supreme Person, who is one's own friend. 27This spotless knowledge, so hard to reach, Narayana the friend of Nara told, they say, to Narada. It comes to those who are the Bhagavan's alone, who own nothing, whose bodies are washed in the dust of his lotus feet.
28I heard this knowledge long ago, and the seeing that goes with it, the pure dharma of the Lord's own, from Narada, who has looked upon god. 29Prahlada, neither you nor we know any teacher apart from these two, our teacher's sons, who have charge even of children. 30For a child kept inside the palace, the company of the great is hard to come by. Cut through our doubt, gentle one, if there is ground here for trusting you.
