When desires are born, a man's senses, his mind, his breath, his self, his duty, his steadiness, his judgement, his shame, his splendour, his blaze, his memory and his truth are all destroyed. When a man lets go the desires that stand in his mind, then, lotus-eyed one, he becomes fit for the state of the Bhagavan. Honour to you, Bhagavan, Person, great self; to Hari, the astonishing lion; to Brahman, the supreme Self. Bhagavan said: Those who are mine alone never ask blessings of me, here or afterwards, being of your kind. Even so, enjoy here for this reign of a Manu the pleasures of the lords of the Daityas. Taking your pleasure in my stories, which are dear to you, and setting me within your own self, where I am, one, worship the Lord who presides over sacrifice in all beings, and send your works away by yoga.

Wearing out merit by enjoying it and wrongdoing by doing good, and leaving your body at the speed of time, you will spread a clean fame, sung in the world of the gods, and come to me with your bonds loosed. A man who says out for me this that you have sung, remembering you and me at the time, is set free from the bondage of works.
