14So at the outset the sages do works for the sake of no work; for a man who strives comes, more often than not, to not striving. 15The Bhagavan, the Lord, works, and yet is not caught in it; his aim is full in the having of himself, and those who follow after him do not sink. 16He works without I-making; wise, asking for nothing, full, moved by no one else, teaching men and standing on his own road: to that Lord, who brings every dharma into being, I go for refuge. 17Seeing him with a gathered mind uttering this secret formula, demons and night-walkers, hungry, ran at him to eat him. 18Seeing them set on that, Yajna, who is Hari and goes everywhere, surrounded by the gods called the Yamas, killed them and ruled the third heaven.
