31We here were made by clarity, which is the body dear to him, showing itself outside and within; and even we and the sages do not know his subtle going. How then the demons and the rest, in whom another strand is uppermost? 32His two feet are this earth, and it is his own making, and on it stands the fourfold bringing forth of beings. May that great Person, who rules himself, Brahman, the great splendour, be gracious. 33Water is his seed, generous in its power, from which the worlds and all the guardians of the worlds are brought about, and live, and grow. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 34His mind, they hand down, is the moon; he is the strength of the sky-dwellers, and their food, and their length of days; he is lord of what grows, and the begetter of creatures. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us.
35His mouth is fire, the knower of all that is born, whose birth is the cause of the section of rites, and who cooks his own elements deep within the sea. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 36His eye became the crossing sun, the road of the gods, made of the triple Veda, this seat of Brahman, the door of release, the nectar, and death as well. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us.
