37From his breath came the breath of all that moves and does not move, and endurance, and strength, and force, and the wind. We wait upon him as followers wait upon an emperor. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 38From his hearing the quarters were born, and from his heart the openings of the senses, and from the navel of the Person, space. He is the resting place of breath and senses and self and life and body. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 39From his strength great Indra, from his favour the thirty gods, from his anger the lord of the mountain, from his understanding Virinca, from his openings the metres and the sages, from his generative part Ka. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us.
40From his chest came Sri, from his shadow the fathers, from his breast dharma and from his back its opposite, from his head the sky, and from his play the apsarases. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 41From his mouth the brahmin, and the sacred word that is his secret; from his arms the kshatriya and his strength; from his thighs the vaisya and his vigour; from his foot the sudra and what lies outside the Veda. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us. 42From his lower lip greed, from the upper love; from his nose the sheen that is good for cattle; from his touch desire; from his brows Yama; and from his eyelashes time. May he, the great splendour, be gracious to us.
43Substance, age, action, the strands and what makes a thing particular, which they say are laid down by yogamaya, hard to make out and set aside for the awakened: may he, the great splendour, be gracious to us.
