Invited in this way by the Daityas, Hari, wearing the body of a woman made by maya, laughed, and looking at them with beautiful sidelong glances he said this: Bhagavan said: Heirs of Kasyapa, how is it that you have attached yourselves to me, a loose woman? A man of learning never gives his trust to women who want men. Enemies of the gods, they say that friendships with jackals and with women who go their own way do not last, since such creatures are always casting about for something new. At these jests of hers the demons were set at ease in mind. They laughed, taking her meaning to be deep, and they gave her the vessel of the nectar.

Then Hari took the vessel of nectar and spoke, in a voice made lovely by a slight smile: If whatever I do is agreed to, good or bad, then I will divide this nectar among you. Hearing her say this, the bulls among the demons, who did not know what her word was worth, agreed to it: Let it be so.
