The lord was born under the star Srona, on the Sravana twelfth, in the hour called Abhijit, and all the lunar houses and the stars and the rest made that birth favourable. On that twelfth day, king, the sun stood at midday. That twelfth is called the Victorious, and in it they know the birth of Hari to have fallen. Conches and kettledrums sounded, and drums and tabors and war-drums, and the noise of instruments and horns of many kinds was a great one. The women of heaven danced in their delight and the best of the gandharvas sang; the sages praised him, and the gods, the Manus, the fathers and the fires. The companies of the siddhas and the vidyadharas, with the kimpurusas and the kinnaras, the caranas, the yaksas and the raksasas, the fine-winged ones and the best of the serpents,

singing, praising him greatly, dancing, all those who follow the gods, covered the ground of Aditi's hermitage over with flowers.
