Then, hearing that Bali was strong and was sacrificing with horse sacrifices set in order by the Bhrgus, he went there, carrying the whole weight of what is essential, bending the earth down at step after step. On the northern bank of the Narmada, at the place called Bhrgukaccha, the Bhrgus who were Bali's priests, carrying forward the highest of rites, saw him from far off like the sun risen. Those priests, king, and the sacrificer and the men of the assembly, their own brightness put out by the dwarf's fire, wondered: Is the sun coming? Or fire? Or Sanatkumara, wanting to see the rite? So, while the Bhrgus and their pupils cast about many ways for what he was, that Bhagavan the dwarf entered the enclosure of the horse sacrifice, carrying his parasol, his staff, and his water pot with water in it.
