To king Satyavrata, speaking so, the lord of the world in the fish's body spoke, wishing to play in the sea of dissolution at the ending of the age, and meaning a kindness to him, dear as he is to those of one undivided heart. Bhagavan said: On the seventh day from this one, tamer of enemies, these three worlds, the earth and the middle air and the rest, will sink in the sea of dissolution. When the three worlds are dissolving in the waters of the ending, a certain wide boat, sent by me, will come to you. You then, taking all the plants and the seeds high and low, with the seven sages around you and living things of every kind gathered to you,

will go aboard the great boat and move about without faltering on that one sea where there is no light, by the shining of the sages alone. When that boat is shaken hard by a strong wind, tie it with the great serpent to the horn of me, standing there beside you. I shall move about on the water, drawing you along with the boat and the sages in it, for as long as the night of Brahma lasts, master. And you will know my greatness, that which is spoken of as the highest Brahman, opened out in your heart by your questions, since I have been gracious to you.
