31Then he went into his own house, the house his own earlier kings had lived in, rich with stores past counting and furnished beyond price, 32with doorways of coral, rows of pillars of cat's-eye stone, floors of clear emerald, and walls of shining crystal, 33with painted garlands and strips of cloth, with fine clothes and masses of gems and hangings, with pearls that gladden the mind, and with everything a loved woman could want, 34decked with incense and lamps and sweet-smelling things and dressed with flowers, and lived in by women and men like gods, who were the ornament of their own ornaments. 35In that house the Bhagavan Rama took his pleasure with Sita, loving and dear and chosen, he who is the bull among the steady ones who take their pleasure in the self.
36He enjoyed the things of desire each in its own season, and never pressed hard on dharma, for many rounds of years, he whose feet, soft as new leaves, men hold in their thought.
