She took the child on her fearful lap and gave him her breast, smeared with a strength no one could digest. The Bhagavan pressed it hard with both hands and, filled with anger, drank it along with her life. Let go, let go, enough, she was crying out, as she was crushed in every vital part of her; her eyes wide, flinging out her feet and her arms again and again, her limbs running with sweat, she wailed. At that cry of hers, deep and very swift, the earth with its hills shook, and the sky with its planets; the lower worlds and the quarters roared back; and people fell to the ground, thinking a thunderbolt had come down.

So the night-walker, her breast in agony, her life gone, her mouth open and her hair and her feet and her arms flung out, lay in the cattle yard in her own form, fallen like Vrtra struck by the thunderbolt, king. As it fell, that body of hers crushed the trees for three gavyutis around. That was a great wonder, king of kings.
