15Its mouth had fearful teeth as long as the pole of a plough, its nostrils were caves in a hill, its breasts were boulders on a slope; it was frightful, with its red hair scattered about; 16its eyes were deep as wells no one can see into, the rise of its hips terrible as a river bank; its arms and thighs and legs were like causeways built across, and its belly was a pool with the water gone out of it. 17The cowherds and the cowherd women were terrified at the sight of that carcass, though already the sound of her cry had split their hearts and their ears and their heads. 18And there was the child, playing on her breast with nothing at all to fear. The cowherd women came running up in a fluster and took him.
19Along with Yasoda and Rohini they made a guard for the child on every side, doing it properly, waving a cow's tail over him and the rest of it.
