There is a wood called Vrndavana, good for cattle, a fresh green place, fit for the cowherds and the cowherd women and the cows, with a holy hill and grass and creepers. So let us go there this very day. Yoke the carts, do not wait. Let the herds go on ahead, if that pleases you. Hearing that, the cowherds were of one mind and said, Good, good; and gathering their several herds they set out with their belongings loaded up. The old and the children and the women, king, and every article they had, the cowherds set up on the carts; and they went carefully, with their bows in their hands. Putting the herds in front and filling their horns with sound on every side, they went with a great noise of drums, and the family priests went with them.

The cowherd women rode in the carts, bright with fresh saffron on their breasts, gold at their throats and finely dressed, and sang of Krsna's play with delight. So too Yasoda and Rohini sat in one cart together and were splendid there with Krsna and Rama, eager to hear the stories told about them.
