Then why did I not see it· Verses 14–18

Are you not Narayana, the self of all who wear bodies, the ruler, the witness of every world? Narayana is a portion of you, since he lies on the water born of Man; and that too is real, and no maya of yours. And if that real world-body of yours stands in the water, why did I not see it then, Bhagavan? Or if it was seen well in my heart then, why was it not shown to me again at once? In this very descent, which puts maya down, you have shown your mother plainly that this whole spread-out world, clear enough outside and whole again inside your belly, is nothing but maya. All this shines with himself in whose belly it lies, just as it does; and that same whole thing is in you here. What is this if not maya?

This very day, have you not shown me that this is maya apart from you? First you are one; then you are all the friends and the calves of Vraja; then just so many four-armed ones, worshipped by me along with all of them; then you became just so many worlds; and what is left is the measureless Brahman without a second.
