8Krsna the Bhagavan, meaning to play there, and with Bala beside him, went in sounding his flute, the cowherds and the cattle all about him. 9Wearing new shoots, peacock feathers, clusters of blossom, garlands and coloured earth for ornament, the cowherds with Rama and Krsna danced and wrestled and sang. 10While Krsna danced, some sang, some kept time on flutes and the flats of their hands and horns, and others praised him aloud. 11The gods, hidden among the cowherd folk, praised Krsna and Rama, who had taken cowherd shape, king, as actors praise an actor.
