6Getting up at dawn, arms linked in one another's and calling each other by their own names, they sang of Krsna aloud as they went day after day to bathe in the Kalindi. 7One day they came to the river, laid their clothes on the bank as they always did, and played in the water gladly, singing of Krsna. 8The Bhagavan Krsna, lord of the masters of yoga, knew what they were about, and he went there with his companions around him so that what they were doing should bear its fruit. 9He took their clothes, climbed quickly into a kadamba tree, and laughing along with the laughing boys he spoke to them in fun. 10Come here, girls, as you please, and let each take her own clothes. I am telling you the truth, this is not a joke; you are worn thin with your vow.
11I have never told a lie before, and these boys know it. Come and take them one by one, or all of you together, slender-waisted ones.
