I broke your sacrifice to be kind· Verses 14–17

।

श्रीभगवानुवाच ।मया तेऽकारि मघवन् मखभङ्गोऽनुगृह्णता ।मदनुस्मृतये नित्यं मत्तस्येन्द्रश्रिया भृशम्

।

।

So praised aloud by Maghavan, the Bhagavan, Krsna, smiling, said this to him in a voice deep as a cloud. Bhagavan said: Maghavan, it was out of kindness that I broke your sacrifice, since you were badly drunk on Indra's splendour, so that you might always remember me. A man blinded by the drunkenness of lordship and splendour does not see me standing with the rod in my hand. The one to whom I want to be kind, I bring down from his riches. Go, Sakra; may it be well with you. Do as I instruct you. Stay within your own offices, attentive, and without stiffness.
