Some left the milking half-done and went in their eagerness; others had set milk on the fire and went without taking the cake off it. Some were serving food and left it; some were giving their little ones milk; some were waiting on their husbands; some were eating and pushed the food away. Some were anointing themselves, some wiping themselves clean, some painting their eyes; and some went to Krsna with their clothes and their ornaments put on wrong. Though their husbands and fathers and brothers and kinsmen held them back, they did not turn round: Govinda had carried their selves away, and they were bewildered.
