1So the cowherd women sang, king, and talked on in many ways, and wept aloud, hungry for the sight of Krsna. 2And the son of Sura appeared before them, his lotus face smiling, wearing yellow cloth and a garland, himself the one who bewilders the bewilderer of minds. 3Seeing him come, the one they loved best, their eyes opening wide with delight, the women all rose at once, as the limbs rise when the breath comes back into the body. 4One took the lotus hand of the son of Sura gladly in her folded palms. One laid his arm, smeared with sandal paste, on her shoulder. 5One slender woman took in her folded palms the betel he had chewed. One, burning, held his lotus foot to her breasts.
