While the two were playing as they pleased and singing like men gone drunk, one called Sankhacuda, a follower of the giver of wealth, came up on them. With the two of them looking on, king, and with no fear in him, he drove the women away northward, though they had those two for their lords and were crying out. Seeing what was their own crying Krsna! Rama!, the two brothers ran after him, as men run after cows a robber has taken. Do not be afraid, they called, and the call took fear away; with sal trees in their hands, swift, they came down at speed on that lowest of the guhyakas. Seeing the two of them upon him like time and death, he shook, and the fool let the women go and ran off, wanting to live.
