43Does he remember those nights, when he took his pleasure with his loved ones in Vrndavana, lovely with night lotuses and jasmine and moonlight, in the round dance with the anklets ringing on their feet, and we praised his lovely talk? 44Will the man of the Dasarhas come here and bring us to life again with his limbs, us who are burnt by a grief he made himself, as Indra brings the woodland to life with his rain clouds? 45Why would Krsna come here? He has his kingdom, his enemies are dead, he has married the daughters of kings, he is content, and all his friends are about him. 46What purpose could we, who live in the woods, or any other women, serve for that great one, the lord of Sri, who wants nothing and has made himself what he is?
47Having no hope is the highest happiness. Even Pingala, who sold herself, said so. We know it; and even so our hope in Krsna is not to be got past. 48Who could bear to give up the knowing of him whose renown is highest, from whose body Sri never slips away, even when he does not want her there?
