58These cowherd wives on earth are the only ones who truly wear a body: their love has grown up in Govinda alone, the self of all. Sages afraid of birth want that, and so do we. What are births as a brahmin worth to one who has the taste of the story of the Endless? 59What are these women, wandering the woods and spoiled by going astray, and what is this grown love of theirs for Krsna, the supreme Self? Surely the Lord gives good outright even to one who serves him without knowing, as the king of medicines does when it is taken. 60This favour did not come to Sri, who lies on his body and loves him utterly, nor to the women of heaven, who have the colour and scent of the lotus, let alone to any others: the favour that came to the cowherd girls of Vraja at the festival of the round dance, whose necks were held by the staff of his arm.
61Let me be something in Vrndavana, some bush or creeper or herb, that has the dust of the feet of these women, who let go their own people and the way of the noble, so hard to let go, and took the road of Mukunda, which the Vedas go searching for. 62In the company of the round dance they took the lotus feet of Krsna the Bhagavan, worshipped by Sri, worshipped inwardly even by the unborn one and the rest who want nothing and by the lords of yoga, and laid them on their breasts and held them, and let their burning go. 63I bow again and again to the dust of the feet of the women of Nanda's Vraja, whose singing out of Hari's story makes the three worlds clean.
