What she asked for· Verses 8–11

Having got him in this way, the lord of aloneness, the Lord who is so hard to get, and got him by the gift of an ointment for the body, ah, the unlucky woman asked for this: Stay here with me a few days, dearest, and take your pleasure. I cannot bear to give up your company, lotus-eyed one. The giver of honour gave her the boon she wanted, and did her honour, and then the lord of all went with Uddhava to his own house, full of light. A man who has worshipped Visnu, hard to worship, the lord of all lords, and then asks for what the mind can lay hold of, thinks poorly, for such a thing has no being in it.
