Not seeing the son of Sura come out again, who had gone into the cave, the people waited twelve days and went back to their city in grief. Hearing that Krsna had not come out of the cave, Devaki and the lady Rukmini and Anakadundubhi, his friends and his kin, grieved. The people of Dvaraka in their grief cursed Satrajit, and waited on the great maya, on Durga, that Krsna might be found. Their waiting on the goddess was answered with a blessing, and Hari appeared, his purpose done, with his wife, and made them glad. Getting back the lord of the senses, come again as if from the dead, with his wife and with the jewel at his throat, they all fell into a great festival.

The Bhagavan called Satrajit to the hall, in the king's presence, told how he had come by it, and handed the jewel over to him. And in great shame he took the gem and went home with his face turned down, burning with regret for what he had himself done wrong.
