40Turning that same wrong over in his mind, troubled by a quarrel with one so strong: How shall I wipe off this dust of mine, and how can the Unfallen be pleased? 41What can I do that would be good for me, and keep people from cursing me as short-sighted and small and dull and hungry for money? 42I will give him my daughter, a jewel of a woman, and the jewel itself. This is the right way, and there is no quieting him otherwise. 43Having settled it so in his judgement, Satrajit took up his own good daughter and the jewel himself and gave them to Krsna. 44The Bhagavan married that Satyabhama as the rule lays down. Many had asked for her, and she had character and beauty and an open nature.
45Bhagavan said: We do not want the jewel, king. Let it stay with you, who worship the god; and we have a share in its fruit as it is. 46Here ends the fifty-sixth chapter, in the story of the Syamantaka, in the latter half of the tenth skandha, in the collection meant for the highest swans, in the great Purana, the holy Bhagavata.
