35He honoured him and greeted him and told him pleasant stories, and then, knowing everything and knowing what was in his mind, he smiled and said: 36Lord of giving, surely the glorious Syamantaka jewel was left with you by Satadhanvan and is with you still. We knew it before this. 37Since Satrajit had no son, his daughter's sons should take the inheritance, after offering the water and the rice balls for him and clearing whatever debt is left. 38Even so, let the jewel stay with you, man of good vows, since others cannot hold it. Only my elder brother does not quite believe me about the jewel. 39Show it, greatly favoured one, and bring peace to your kinsmen. Your sacrifices with their golden altars go on unbroken to this day.
40Worked on like this with gentle words, Svaphalka's son took out the jewel from where it lay hidden in his cloth and handed it over, bright as the sun. 41Having shown the Syamantaka to his kinsmen and wiped off the dust that lay on him, the mighty one gave it back once more to that man. 42Whoever reads or hears or calls to mind this story of the Bhagavan, the Lord Visnu, rich in his strength, taking away all harm, greatly auspicious, throws off ill fame and evil and comes to peace.
