Hearing of this, the kings blocked him on the road as he took the girl away: their strength already broken by the Yadus and by the bulls, and unable to bear it. Arjuna of the Gandiva, doing what was dear to his kinsman, drove off those men as they shot their flights of arrows, as a lion drives off small deer. Taking the wedding gifts, the bull of the Yadus, the Bhagavan, son of Devaki, came to Dvaraka and took his pleasure with Satya. Krsna married Bhadra, the Kaikeyi, daughter of his father's sister Srutakirti, given to him by her brothers, Santardana and the others. And the daughter of the lord of Madra, Laksmana, who had all the marks, he carried off alone at her own choosing, as Suparna carried off the nectar.

And other wives of Krsna of this kind were his by the thousand, brought back when Bhauma was killed, taken out of his holding, and lovely to look at.
