Tamra, Antariksa, Sravana, Vibhavasu, Vasu, Nabhasvan and Aruna the seventh, with Pitha the army's captain before them, sent out by Bhauma, came into the field with weapons in their hands. They came up and used arrows and swords and maces, javelins and pikes and tridents on the Unconquered, terrible in their anger; and the Bhagavan, whose strength never fails, cut that heap of weapons to seed-sized pieces with his own shafts. He sent Pitha and the rest to Yama's house, their heads and thighs and arms and feet and armour cut off; and when his own captains had been thrown down in this way by the Unfallen's disc and arrows, Naraka, the son of the Earth,

could not bear the sight of it, and came out with elephants born of the sea and running with rut. Seeing Krsna standing with his wife on Garuda, like a cloud with its lightning above the sun, he let a hundred-killer go at him, and all his fighters struck at once. That army of Bhauma the Bhagavan, elder brother of Gada, made a thing of cut arms and thighs and necks and bodies with his sharp arrows and their many-coloured feathers, and its horses and elephants were killed there and then. Carrier of the Kuru line, whatever weapons and missiles the fighters used, Hari cut them one by one, each with three sharp arrows.
