For Bana's sake the revered Rudra, with his son and ringed by his ghouls, mounted the bull Nandi and fought against Rama and Krsna. There was a battle of great uproar, astonishing, enough to make the hair stand up, king, between Krsna and Sankara, and between Pradyumna and Guha too. Bala's fight was with Kumbhanda and Kupakarna, Samba's with Bana's son, and Satyaki's with Bana. Brahma and the other rulers of the gods, sages, siddhas and caranas, gandharvas and apsarases and yaksas came in their sky-chariots to watch. Sankara's followers, the spirits and ghouls and guhyakas, the dakinis and the night-walkers, the corpse-dwellers along with the vinayakas,

and the ghosts and the mothers and the flesh-eaters, the kusmandas and the brahma-raksasas: the son of Sura drove them all off with sharp-pointed arrows loosed from the Sarnga bow.
