You are Brahman, the highest light, hidden inside the Brahman that is made of words, which those whose selves are clean see as they see open space, alone and bare. Whose navel is the sky and whose mouth is fire, whose seed is water, whose head is heaven, whose hearing is the quarters, whose foot is the earth; whose mind is the moon, whose eye is the sun, whose self I am, whose belly is the sea and whose arm is Indra; whose body hair is the plants, whose hair is the rain clouds, whose understanding is Virinci, whose sending-out is the lord of creatures, whose heart is dharma: that Person, out of whom the worlds are shaped, is you.

This descent of yours, you whose light is never blunted, is for the guarding of dharma and the good of the world. And all of us, given our power by you, hold up the seven worlds. You are the one, the first, the Person, with no second, the fourth, your own witness, the cause that has no cause, the Lord. And yet you are met with as though you had changed, by your own maya, so that all the strands may come out. Just as the sun, covered by its own shadow, lights up both the shadow and the shapes it falls on, so you, covered by a strand, light up the strands and those who carry them; you are your own lamp, boundless one.
