The Lord called the Yamuna to come and play in the water. She paid no heed to what he said, thinking, He is drunk. Bala grew angry, and since she would not come he dragged the river to him with the tip of his plough. Wicked thing, since you make nothing of me and will not come when I have called you, I will take you in a hundred directions with the tip of my plough, you who go where you please. Scolded like this, the Yamuna was frightened, king; and shaking, she fell at the feet of the joy of the Yadus and spoke. Rama, Rama, great-armed one, I did not know what you can do, you by one portion of whom the earth is held up, lord of the world.

Bhagavan, I did not know the highest state of the Bhagavan. Self of all, tender to those devoted to you, I have come to you for refuge, and you should let me go. Then the Bhagavan Bala, being asked, let the Yamuna go, and went down into the water with the women, like the king of the elephants among his cows.
