When Rama had gone to Nanda's Vraja, king, the ruler of Karusa, who knew no better, sent a messenger to Krsna, saying, I am Vasudeva. You are Vasudeva, the Bhagavan, the lord of the world come down. Talked up like this by childish men, he took himself for the Unfallen. And the dull man sent a messenger to Krsna at Dvaraka, whose road cannot be made out; a king made king by children, and no more knowing than a child himself. The messenger came to Dvaraka and spoke the king's message to the lord Krsna, whose eyes are lotus petals, as he sat in his hall. I alone am Vasudeva come down, and there is no other, and I came down out of pity for living beings. So you give up the name that is not yours.

Satvata, the marks you carry out of stupidity are ours. Give them up and come to me for refuge; and if you will not, give me a battle.
