Somewhere he sat alone, meditating on the Person who is beyond nature; somewhere he waited upon his teachers with the things they wanted, with enjoyments, and with honour. Somewhere Kesava was making war on some and peace with others; somewhere, together with Rama, he was considering what would be good for the good. And arranging in due season, and with great wealth, the marriage by rite of his sons and his daughters to wives and bridegrooms who matched them. He saw the great festivals of the lord of the lords of yoga at the sending off of his children and the bringing home of brides for them, festivals at which the worlds were astonished.

Somewhere he was worshipping all the gods with strong rites; somewhere filling out dharma with water-works, gardens, rest houses and the like. Somewhere he was out hunting, mounted on a Sindhu horse, killing there the beasts fit for the sacrifice, ringed about by the bulls of the Yadus. Somewhere the lord of yoga was moving among his people, through the inner apartments and the houses, with no sign to show who he was, wanting to know the mind of this one and that.
