Krsna had gone to Indraprastha, called there by the son of Dharma. When the royal consecration was over and Sisupala had met his end, he took leave of the Kuru elders and the sages and of Prtha with her sons, and set out for Dvaravati, seeing signs of the worst kind on the way. And he said: I came here in the company of the honoured ones, and now the kings of Caidya's party must surely be destroying my city. Kesava looked at the slaughter of his own people, set the defence of the city in order, looked at Saubha and at king Salva, and spoke to Daruka. Driver, bring my chariot up close to Salva, and do it quickly. You must not lose your head: this king of Saubha works by illusion.

So told, Daruka mounted and drove the chariot forward, and all of them, his own men and the enemy, saw Aruna's younger brother going in.
