He who sees the self in all beings knew straight off why the man had come, and thought: he never came to me before wanting fortune. But now my friend has come to me for the sake of his wife, who is faithful to her husband, wanting to do her a kindness. I will give him riches that even the deathless find hard to come by. Thinking so, he took the flattened rice himself out of the twice-born man's clothes, where it was tied in a rag, saying: What is this? Surely, friend, you have brought me this, and nothing pleases me more. Dear one, this flattened rice satisfies me, and the whole world with me. So saying, he ate one handful, and took up a second to eat. At that Sri, who is given over to him, caught the hand of the one who stands highest.

This much is enough, self of the world, for every kind of wealth to come to the man in this world and in the next: this is what makes you pleased with him.
