8He was lying with his head in Sri's lap, and Bhrgu struck him on the chest with his foot. Then the Bhagavan, the goal of the good, rose up with Laksmi, 9and getting down from his couch he bowed his head to the sage and said: Welcome to you, brahmin. Sit here on this seat a moment. Forgive us, lord, who did not know that you had come. 10Your feet are very tender, dear one, great sage. Saying this, he rubbed the brahmin's feet with his own hand. 11Make me clean, and the world with me, and the guardians of the worlds who have come to me, with the water of your feet, which makes fords out of fords. 12Today, revered one, I have become the one vessel of Laksmi. Prosperity will live on this chest of mine, whose wrongdoing your foot has struck away.
13When Vaikuntha said this in his deep voice, Bhrgu was made content and satisfied, and stayed silent, his longing full of devotion, tears in his eyes.
