48He passed the seven islands and the seven seas, and the seven times seven mountains, and Lokaloka too, and entered a very great darkness. 49There the horses Saibya, Sugriva, Meghapuspa and Balahaka lost their way in the darkness, bull of the Bharatas. 50Seeing them, the Bhagavan Krsna, great lord of the lords of yoga, sent his own discus on ahead, like a thousand suns. 51Tearing that great darkness, terrible and thick, with a light greater than any other, the discus Sudarsana, swift as thought, went into it as Rama's arrow, loosed from the string, goes into an army. 52Through the door the discus made along its path, Phalguna, seeing that darkness reaching to a light beyond and beyond it, without end and without shore, his eyes struck by it, closed them both.
53Then he entered a water stirred by a wind of great strength, adorned with huge waves; and there was a wonderful dwelling, full of light, shining with a thousand pillars of blazing jewels. 54In it was the Endless, wonderful, of great coils, blazing with the jewels on the hoods of his thousand heads, terrible with twice as many eyes, like a white mountain, his tongues like the throat of the blue-throated one.
